What we do

What is Vision Trekk?
definition

Think of all the different ways we see things; with our eyes, our minds, in our imaginations and in our spiritual lives. Our vision or sight enables us to move forward.

In life sometimes we don’t have a clear line of sight into where we are supposed to go. Sometimes,  our vision is so good that we see too many things and can’t determine what is most important. Other times our vision is clouded and we can’t see what we need to.

The reality is that each one of us, regardless of life situation, possesses in themselves the necessary, God given tools to reach whatever vision God has given us.

Vision Trekk is designed to force students to begin an intentional “Trekk” to help uncover the “Vision” God has for them. We do this by “seeing” inward at the departs parts of ourselves, and “seeing” outward by what others “see” in us. While we possess the raw material in ourselves, they need refinement and that can only happen through “trekking” with others.

How We Will Do It

Each morning will consist of classroom type instruction delivered through a four part model: Identification (understanding unique facets of ourselves), Integration (taking that which you know of yourself back into community), Imitation (manifesting the character of Christ in our everyday lives), Influence (recognizing organic opportunities to lead those around us).

The teaching will reference instruments such as the Myers-Briggs, StengthsFinder, APEST, and the Leadership / Character Matrix® which will assist students in gaining a deeper understanding of self and how we interact with others.

In the afternoons, we will be doing experiential activities (local service project, snow shoe orienteering, igloo building, wilderness exploration, etc.) where we can integrate what we have learned about ourselves. This integration is intended to be a catalyst for transformation not only students lives, but the lives of others. The evenings will consist of fireside debriefings of each day’s activity. At the end of the week, students will be able to identify several aspects of their unique identity and gifting.

Is this dangerous?
